For years my son was skunked in Black Bay. Not this year!! Here he is pictured with his prize catch this year.
Exact weight? Exact lenght?
Sufice it to say it was a prize.
The pickeral was promptly released to be enjoyed another day.

Weather was soso but we did have some pretty hot days if you were sheltered from the constant winds.
We generally stayed close to Britt and even uncovered a few new sheltered coves. Enjoyed cruising, kayaking, flying kites, sailing my RC sailboat, reading but most of all relaxing.
Our two weeks ended on a sour note when Le Rigodon lost its steering in Cunningham Channel and we ended up on the shoals. The good news is no one got hurt and we were pull off the shoals by Graham and the crew at Wright’s Marina (which rushed over very quickly) with minimal damage to the hull. Many thanks to Wright’s for their quick response. The experience left us with additional ideas on how we can prepare for the unexpected (future subject).

The weather was uncooperative this morning and as such forced the postpoment of the Big Britt Walk to Sunday, August 23, 2009.

This should be of interest to all who live or frequent the area and waters in and around Britt, Ontario.
The Big Britt Walk is an event scheduled for Sunday, August 9, 2009 and is in support of the Britt Area Nursing Station Building Fund. While this a very worthwhile endeavour what makes it even more outstanding is that the whole event was the brainchild of a young girl named Madison. Madi claims the idea came to her during another fund raising event that she previously participated in and after pondering the idea decided to make it happen.
